Excerpts...
“Do you think we’re friends in every universe?”
No
Because there’s one where she lived
One where we weren’t thrown together
Like a storm wave on a cliff
There is a universe where I didn’t feel like I was watching you grieve behind a pane of glass
One where I wasn’t terrified I would fall short
A universe where I got to know her better,
And maybe I could have had both of you
You had both of us
But she was the one you called your ride or die...
"Please, please let me stay. Let me stay awhile longer until I am old enough to go. Your blade gleams in the shadows of my eyes. Let me convince you why I should stay, because I don’t want to throw my life away anymore. Consider what I have to live for.
If I die, who will know me? Who will know what I had to do to want to live? I may be too young to have carried a baby, which I am fortunate because I have known many a girl my age who did. No, I carried children I wish I could wish into this world. There is a boy, a tall, sweet, loving boy who came to me in a dream and never left. I know everything there is to know about him and I still want to know more. I wrote him over and over again, each time trying to make him a little more solid, but he was as flimsy to the touch as the paper in my hand. Still, I wrote him anyway."
...
It’s about
Oh, I’d say–
Three of four feet
Earth that has turned
But not settled
The Grave of Jimmy Dean
A blue pen spells his name
On a makeshift cross
We knock it down in pursuit
Of blue little boy’s shoes
Rusted bikes and flat balls
Did they play among the corn stalks?
Down the hill, across the creek?
No, not the kids
Those were all accounted for
The previous owners left us their chickens and one dead pig
All are gone now
Creatures of the night came in waves and ate them
The cornfields
Do the people of before roam there?
The Indians who were buried...
"Ride Or..."
"To Live"
"The Grave of Jimmy Dean"
BIO

My name in Kynnedi Faust, but I've been waiting to write under the name Lost Reign since I was in middle school. I technically started writing stories when I was six years old, but I really fell in love with it when I was ten. Rick Riordan and Shannon Messenger were my literary hero's.
They gave me my love of fantasy and myth, which inspires my writing today. Outside of writing, I love bringing my friends into my stories through playing Dungeons and Dragons. I hope to write my first book in the perspective of one of my players as an introduction to the world my future series will be based in.
